In Loving Memory of Kimari Skinner

In Loving Memory of Kimari Skinner 🕊️

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Kimari Skinner, a beautiful young soul whose life was taken far too soon. At just 18 years old, Kimari was standing at the threshold of adulthood—full of dreams, hope, and the promise of a future that was only beginning to unfold.

Kimari was the beloved daughter of Kyndris Brooks, known to many as Kyn Brooks. She was a senior in high school, looking ahead to graduation, to new opportunities, and to the journey of becoming a mother. Just six months pregnant, Kimari carried not only her own dreams, but the promise of a new life growing within her—a child who would have known her love, her warmth, and her gentle spirit.

She had recently celebrated her 18th birthday in November, marking a milestone in her young life. That birthday symbolized growth, maturity, and a future filled with possibilities. Friends and family knew her as a young woman with a bright spirit, a kind heart, and a presence that brought light into every room. She was more than her age, more than a student, more than a headline—she was a daughter, a friend, a loved one, and a young mother-to-be whose life mattered deeply.

In the early morning hours of January 30, 2026, tragedy struck in Holmes County. Authorities responded to an incident near U.S. 51 and State Park Road before 4:30 a.m. What happened in those moments changed everything. Kimari’s life was taken violently and senselessly, leaving her family, friends, and community in shock and heartbreak.

There are no words that can fully capture the pain of losing someone so young, so full of promise, and so deeply loved. The loss of Kimari is not just the loss of an 18-year-old girl—it is the loss of a future graduate, a future mother, a future leader, and a future filled with milestones that will now live only in memory.

To her mother, Kyndris Brooks, and to her family: the world cannot begin to imagine the depth of your grief. A daughter is irreplaceable. A mother’s love is eternal. May you find strength in the love that surrounds you, comfort in the memories you shared, and peace in knowing that Kimari’s life mattered and will never be forgotten.

To her friends, classmates, and teachers: remember Kimari for her laughter, her kindness, her dreams, and her presence. Speak her name. Share her stories. Carry her memory forward in the way you live, love, and uplift others.

Kimari’s unborn child represents a future that was stolen too soon, and that loss echoes through every heart touched by this tragedy. May this moment remind us all of the fragility of life, the importance of compassion, and the urgent need to protect and cherish our young people.

Rest in peace, Kimari Skinner.

You were loved more than words can say.

You will always be remembered.

Your light will never fade.

Prayers and deepest condolences to the Skinner and Brooks families, and to all who are grieving this unimaginable loss
