On a quiet afternoon around 4:44 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Vico, a 38-year-old man, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. He was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where medical staff fought to save him. Despite their efforts, Vico was pronounced deceased. A life was taken too soon, leaving behind heartbreak, unanswered questions, and a community searching for healing.
Chicago Police have taken a 22-year-old suspect into custody, and a weapon has been recovered. Area 4 Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. While justice is being pursued, nothing can replace the life that was lost or the memories that will forever remain.
