With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Thomas Foster, a young man whose life was tragically cut short at just 23 years old. Thomas passed away following a shooting on Tuesday night, February 3, 2026, in Standish, Maine. His sudden and heartbreaking death has left a deep wound in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
On that evening, at approximately 9:28 p.m., deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Kennie Drive following reports of an altercation. When they arrived, they discovered Thomas had died at the scene. Another adult male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit–South assisted in the investigation, and an autopsy later determined that Thomas died from a gunshot wound, with the manner of death ruled a homicide. While the investigation continues, the pain of losing Thomas is already deeply felt by all who loved him.
Thomas Foster was more than a statistic, more than a name in a report—he was a young man full of potential, dreams, and a future that should have stretched far ahead.
