Promise Lee Loyd Death; Several cars hit Promise Lee Loyd trying to cross I-20; coroner identifies victim

A guy who was murdered over the weekend while attempting to cross I-20 has finally been recognized by the coroner.

Make a commitment On February 23, Lee Loyd, 29, of Bossier City, was struck by several vehicles as he attempted to cross the westbound lanes of the interstate close to mile marker 14. Around four in the morning, he was declared dead on the spot. By comparing his fingerprints, Loyd was recognized. They requested an autopsy.

A traffic alert was issued by the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) at 4:51 a.m. in reference to the tragic collision that occurred on westbound I-20 between Greenwood Road and Monkhouse Drive. For several hours, local traffic was rerouted.

Officers discovered a gray 2023 Kia Forte parked on the shoulder after it had been pulled off the road. Both the passenger side and the front end had been severely damaged. The motorist claimed to have struck something, but he did not specify what had struck him.

In the inside lane of westbound I-20, officers discovered Loyd dead. He had suffered serious injuries that were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

After being escorted to SPD DWI offices, the motorist gave their agreement to blood and breath samples, as well as standardized field sobriety testing. No indications of impairment were seen.

According to officials, Loyd was struck by the Kia Forte in the inside lane while attempting to cross southbound on westbound I-20, according to the preliminary investigation.
