Lawrence Turnbull Arrested; St. Thomas Pastor Arrested on Child Abuse and Unlawful Sexual Contact Charges

Pastor Arrested by CIB for Inappropriate Contact with Minor St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

On Friday, February 28, 2025, the Virgin Islands Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested 63-year-old Lawrence Turnbull charging him with child abuse and unlawful sexual contact in the second degree, obscene internet contact with minor, harassment, disturbance of peace. His bail was set at $60,000.00.

A minor reported to law enforcement that over the past six years, her pastor Mr. Turnbull, fostered a relationship with her, presenting himself as a mentor and father figure however Mr. Turnbull’s intentions were not genuine. He exploited her trust by engaging in inappropriate physical contact with her, despite her attempts to avoid him.

The minor provided evidence where Turnbull acknowledged his involvement in unwelcome sexual contact, indicating that he continued to pursue her even after she expressed her disinterest.
