Javon Charles Arrested; Possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for the charges of pornography involving juveniles and sexual abuse of an animal

On February 28, 2025, at 2:05 pm, 𝗝𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝟭, 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮, 𝗟𝗔, 𝗟𝗔, was arrested on a warrant for the crimes of sexual abuse of an animal and pornography against minors.

A detective was tasked with investigating a probable misconduct by a local law enforcement official on February 14, 2025. Detectives used the inquiry to secure a search warrant for Javon Charles’ phone, and they later discovered pornographic pictures of minors on it. Furthermore, movies showing animal pornography were also found.

On February 28, 2025, contact was made with Charles at a residence in Bayou Vista and a search warrant was executed. During the investigation, drug paraphernalia was found in the residence and Charles was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time.

Between the initial complaint on February 14, 2025, and the arrest on February 28, 2025, Charles was separated from the Patterson Police Department and was employed by the Jeanerette Police Department.
