Happening Now: Deputies are on scene of a shooting in Stratford Place subdivision

Deputies are on scene of a shooting in Stratford Place subdivision. This is an ongoing investigation and this is preliminary information.

At approximately 6:35 p.m. deputies responded to North Jenny Lynn Road for a disturbance with a subject driving an off road motorcycle recklessly through the area. There was a confrontation with an off-duty federal agent and the motorcyclist.

Acquaintances of the motorcyclist came to the area and Stafford County deputies responded . Although deputies tried to quell the situation, the disturbance grew.

The initial investigation indicates the federal agent’s firearm discharged striking an adult male resident at the scene. That adult male has been transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The scene is safe, but the roadway will be closed as the investigation continues. We will update information as it becomes available.
