Haedon D. Hughes Death; Deatsville man killed in Friday morning Highway 231 crash

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is verifying that a Prattville passenger was hurt in an early Friday morning crash that claimed the life of an Elmore County man.

The collision occurred close to the 93-mile marker on U.S. Highway 231 at approximately 6:20 a.m. About 15 miles north of Troy, in Montgomery County, is where that is.

Deatsville resident Haedon D. Hughes, 19, lost his life when his 2008 Honda Ridgeline veered off the road and collided with a tree. On the spot, first responders declared him dead.

A 19-year-old passenger in the car was treated for injuries, the extent of which was not made public, at a Montgomery hospital, according to ALEA investigators.

The ALEA Highway Patrol Division is still looking into what caused the collision.
