George Manning Arrested; Missouri State Highway Patrol has issued an Amber Alert in Platte County, The suspect is 43-year-old George Manning
A man accused of killing two people in Platte County is still on the run, but the 5-year-old girl he took has been found safe, authorities said Friday.
The Amber Alert for Giuliana Manning was canceled after she was found safe around 5:10 a.m. Friday. She has since been reunited with family.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 43-year-old George Clyde Manning may be driving a stolen blue 2013 Hyundai Accent with Kansas plates 3939ABK. He is a Black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and was last seen wearing a white shirt. Authorities say he is armed and dangerous and is believed to be in the Kansas City metro.
Investigators say Manning killed a person near Vivian Road and NW High Drive in Riverside around 11:15 p.m. Thursday. He then stole the victim’s car and drove to a home in the 4400 block of NW 50th Street in unincorporated Platte County. There, he shot two more people, killing one and seriously injuring the other, before taking 5-year-old Giuliana Manning and leaving the scene.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office said there is no longer an immediate threat to the 4400 block of NW 50th Street since Manning is now believed to be in a stolen vehicle.
Anyone who sees Manning or the car he may be driving should call 911 or the Platte County Sheriff’s Office at 816-858-3521.
