Erica Mastropietro Death; Police ID 41-Year-Old Woman Killed In Head-On Wilmington Crash

District Attorney Marian Ryan and Wilmington Police Chief Joe Desmond released a statement announcing the death of a driver involved in a collision that occurred in Wilmington on Wednesday night.

The collision happened at 9:09 p.m. on Wilmington’s Route 62. A Lexus RX 330 was heading west when it crossed the line into the opposite lane, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading east, according to the preliminary inquiry.

The statement said that the Lexus then collided head-on with the Jeep at a high speed.

The 41-year-old driver of the Lexus, Erica Mastropietro, was taken to Lahey Hospital in Burlington and subsequently declared deceased.

Also transferred to Lahey Hospital, the Jeep’s driver is still in the hospital.
