Bibiano Ruano Death; Man Fatally Shot While Walking in Pilsen Neighborhood

The Chicago Police Department reports that a 24-year-old man was shot and died in a targeted attack on Saturday night while he was out on a walk in the Pilsen area.

Bibiano Ruano was identified by the authorities as the victim.

Around 8:15 p.m., he was strolling in the 1400 block of West 18th Street when two unknown people came up to him and started shooting. He was hit several times before they left the area.

Ruano was shot in both the knee and the head.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported him to Stroger Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition.

Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.

As of Sunday, no arrests have been made, and police have not yet identified any suspects.

Detectives are actively investigating the case, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Chicago Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
