Kyleah Toll Arrested; Mother Arrested After Baby Found Dead, Toddler Malnourished
A 20-year-old mother in Yakima, Washington, has been arrested after police found her 7-month-old baby dead and her 2-year-old severely malnourished in their apartment.
Police responded to a welfare check around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday after a woman called 911, claiming a baby inside the home was possibly dead. She also said she was leaving to take her own life.
Officers arrived and heard a child crying. Inside, they found the baby lifeless in a bassinet. An autopsy confirmed she died from dehydration.
The toddler was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found severe malnutrition and neglect.
The mother, , 20, was later found at Squaw Rock RV Resort & Campground, where she had run out of gas. Police found a note on her car about the fuel.
Tolle faces charges of manslaughter, criminal mistreatment, and family abandonment. She is being held on $20,000 bail for this case and $5,000 bail for a 2023 case where she allegedly starved two dogs, killing one.
