17-year-old shot, killed after brawl in McDonald’s parking lot near Aldine HS
Following a gunshot that resulted from a brawl between two groups of teenagers on foot and inside a pickup truck, the body of a 17-year-old kid was discovered in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in the Aldine neighborhood. Three people of interest were taken into custody on Thursday night in order to be questioned.
Around 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, there was a gunfire reported close to the McDonald’s located at 185 West Road.
Officials from the Houston Police Department verified shortly after that the victim, a 17-year-old boy, had died.
The Aldine ISD Police Department is helping with the investigation, and the McDonald’s is across the street from Aldine High School.
Family members of the victim were present at the scene, and they appeared to be visibly heartbroken and devastated by the loss.
Police are actively searching for the shooter and believe there were at least two people in the truck. They have surveillance footage and a good view of the license plate, aiding their investigation.
According to HPD officials, three persons of interest have been detained. They were reportedly apprehended near the intersection of Tidwell Road and N Wayside Drive.
