According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred around 1:35 p.m. on the 1700 block of Franklin Avenue, south of Trenton. Kyler was driving a Nissan Pathfinder when he lost control on a curve, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times. Authorities reported that Kyler was ejected from the vehicle and airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, where he was pronounced deceased. It was noted that Kyler was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
