According to the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Dylan was operating his Kawasaki KX100 dirt bike northbound on Walnut Alley at approximately 10:53 p.m. When he approached the intersection of Walnut Alley and Sunset Street, Dylan went off the north side of the road and struck a utility pole guy wire. Emergency responders, including Mount Vernon Fire/EMS, rushed him to Knox Community Hospital, but despite their efforts, Dylan succumbed to his injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol noted that Dylan was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, a tragic reminder of the risks faced by motorcyclists. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Mount Vernon Police Department, Mount Vernon City Fire/EMS, and On the Spot Towing, as the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
