In Loving Memory of Anna M. Moore

In Loving Memory of Anna M. Moore

On Monday, February 16th, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers from the Town of Tonawanda Police Department and local paramedics responded to a heartbreaking call at 1152 Parkhurst Boulevard. What they discovered was a tragedy that has left the Town of Tonawanda community grieving the sudden and devastating loss of 57-year-old Anna M. Moore.

When first responders arrived, they found Anna suffering from fatal stab wounds. Lifesaving efforts were immediately initiated, but despite their attempts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. In that moment, a family lost a loved one, friends lost a cherished presence, and a community lost a neighbor whose life mattered deeply.

Anna was more than the circumstances surrounding her passing. She was a woman who had lived 57 years filled with experiences, relationships, and moments that shaped who she was. Those who knew her remember her as someone who carried strength, resilience, and care for the people around her. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, shared conversations, or simply her presence, Anna made an impact that cannot be erased.

Her home on Parkhurst Boulevard was more than just an address — it was a place where memories were created. It was part of the fabric of a neighborhood where lives intersect and bonds are formed over time. Now, that place is marked by sorrow, but also by remembrance of the life that was lived there.

Authorities reported that 19-year-old Miguel A. Castro Jr., a relative of Anna, was taken into custody at the scene. He has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned in the Town of Tonawanda Court before the Honorable Judge J. Mark Gruber and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center without bail. He is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, February 19, at 4:00 p.m.

While legal proceedings move forward, they cannot undo the pain felt by those who loved Anna. Justice may follow its course, but grief follows its own path — one filled with tears, memories, and the slow process of healing.

In remembering Anna M. Moore, we are reminded of the importance of cherishing our loved ones and nurturing peace within our homes and communities. Her life, though tragically taken, will not be defined solely by its ending. It will be remembered through the laughter she shared, the care she gave, and the relationships she built over nearly six decades.

To her family and friends, may you find comfort in the love that surrounds you during this unimaginable time. May Anna’s memory be a source of strength, and may her life continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rest in peace, Anna. You are deeply missed, and you will never be forgotten.
