The Cypress Falls High School community is mourning the tragic loss of 14-year-old freshman DeAnthony Glenn, who passed away following a devastating bicycle accident on Highway 6 in northwest Harris County. The family confirmed that DeAnthony died despite the heroic efforts of medical staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

The heartbreaking incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Highway 6 and Pebble Lake Drive. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, DeAnthony was crossing the roadway on his bicycle when he was struck by a Jeep Wrangler. Authorities have confirmed that the driver remained at the scene, fully cooperating with investigators, and showed no signs of intoxication. DeAnthony was immediately airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, but, tragically, his injuries proved too severe.

“It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share that DeAnthony succumbed to his injuries,” his family stated. “Despite the tireless efforts of the medical team, our beloved DeAnthony passed away, leaving his family and community devastated.”

DeAnthony was remembered by those who knew him as a bright, caring, and vibrant young man. He had a natural ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and joyful spirit. At Cypress Falls, he excelled both academically and athletically, with a special passion for football. Coaches, classmates, and teachers alike praised his dedication, teamwork, and the positivity he brought to every endeavor.

Beyond his accomplishments, DeAnthony was cherished for his kindness, empathy, and the warmth he extended to everyone around him. Friends recall how he would always make time to lift others’ spirits and share a laugh, leaving a lasting impression on anyone fortunate enough to know him.

As the family begins to navigate this unimaginable loss, they are reaching out to the community for support. Funeral expenses are estimated at $16,000, and a GoFundMe campaign has been established to help cover these costs and provide the family with some measure of comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

DeAnthony’s passing is a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of treasuring every moment with those we love. While his life was tragically cut short, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the Cypress Falls community.

The family asks that anyone who wishes to honor DeAnthony do so by embracing the values he embodied—kindness, joy, and the pursuit of one’s passions—and by keeping his memory alive in acts of love and generosity.

DeAnthony Glenn will be remembered not only as a student and athlete but as a remarkable young soul whose light touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever remain a part of the community he so dearly loved
