Luke Dorman, 22, and Melissa Laton, 21, both residents of Tibbie, lost their lives in the single-vehicle crash on Howardtown Road, just three miles east of Tibbie.

According to Alabama state troopers, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. when Luke Dorman was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra. Officials report that the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. Luke was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, Melissa Laton, was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Melissa tragically passed away on Thursday.
