In Loving Memory of Priscilla Kee
With hearts weighed down by sorrow, the Roanoke Rapids community comes together to mourn the tragic and untimely passing of Priscilla Kee, whose life was taken in a senseless act of violence in the early hours of February 8, 2026. Her death has sent shockwaves through family, friends, and all who knew her, leaving behind a profound sense of loss, grief, and unanswered questions.
Priscilla’s life was cut short following a violent incident in a parking lot near the Kirkwood Adams Civic Center at the intersection of 11th Street and Hamilton Street. She was rushed to ECU Medical Center with critical injuries, where doctors and medical staff worked tirelessly to save her. Despite their efforts, Priscilla later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have since announced that a suspect has been charged in connection with her death, but no legal outcome can ever restore the life that was taken or ease the pain of those left behind.
Beyond the tragic circumstances of her passing, Priscilla Kee was a person whose presence mattered. She was more than a headline, more than a victim in a report—she was a daughter, a friend, a loved one, and a cherished member of her community. Those who knew her remember her for her warmth, her kindness, and the way she made people feel seen and valued. Her laughter, her conversations, and her unique spirit brought light into the lives of many.
Priscilla carried with her a strength that inspired others. She had dreams, hopes, and plans for the future—plans that will now live on only in memory. Her life, though tragically shortened, was filled with moments of love, connection, and meaning. She touched hearts in ways both big and small, and her absence will be deeply felt for years to come.
Her passing serves as a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile life is and how violence can shatter families and communities in an instant. As Roanoke Rapids grieves, there is also a collective call for compassion, justice, and unity—to honor Priscilla not only in words, but in actions that seek to prevent such tragedies in the future.
To Priscilla’s family and loved ones, we extend our deepest condolences. May you find comfort in the memories you shared, strength in the love that surrounds you, and peace in knowing that Priscilla’s life had purpose and impact. Her story, her smile, and her spirit will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Priscilla Kee.
You are remembered. You are loved. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew you.
